Tuesday Trainer: Journaling

The next step that I've gotten back into that is effective for me is: keeping a food and exercise journal. I'm not sure why (there are a lot of 'theories' out there to explain its effectiveness) but I seem to do better when I take time every day to jot down what I ate, when I ate it, how I was feeling (sometimes), sleep quality, exercise, ...and I think that's the bare bones.

Maybe I *am* more conscious of having to write it down (although honestly, I'm the only one who reads it, so I know what I've eaten anyway!), maybe it helps me see the 'big picture' of my habits...I do know that it helps me figure out 'what to eat' once I have a couple weeks written down LOL!

So as of yesterday I've pulled out one of my journals at work (meant for my clients, but hey they're mine anyway!) and started writing down when/what/sleep/exercise/generally how I felt for the past..two days now. I'm planning on continuing this habit so that I can make further headway on my BALANCE goals this year.

I've also started exercising again (which I hope will become 'on a regular basis') - but that's a whole other post, for another day!
